To My Spiritual Family of Holy Redeemer and St. Anthony,
Corpus Christi Procession: Eucharistic Revival is desperately needed. You and I can do our part. Please join the Revival by participating in today’s (Sunday, June 11) Eucharistic Procession. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place at 2:30 pm on the Holy Redeemer altar. At 3:00 pm, our procession will form, and we will take the Real Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ into the streets of Warren. The route is flat and short enough that most should be able to take part (even those in wheelchairs). We will accompany the Blessed Sacrament down Pennsylvania Avenue to Prospect and then back to church by way of Madison. Benediction will conclude our afternoon of Eucharistic devotion. Corpus Christi processions are a wonderful tradition of the Catholic Faith. As part of the Revival, they are occurring throughout our diocese and our nation today. Our prayer for the procession is this: That the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, carried out onto the streets, will radiate love into our neighborhood, into our community, and into our world. Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, fill our hearts with love for you!
Patronal Feast of St. Anthony of Padua: “Attribute to God every good that you have received. If you take credit for something that does not belong to you, you will be guilty of theft.” Even 800 years after his death, the timeless wisdom of St. Anthony continues to enrich us. Please join us for 9:00 am Mass in Saybrook on Tuesday, June 13 to celebrate the great Franciscan friar’s feast in our own St. Anthony Church. The cover of this week’s bulletin is related. What you see is the stained glass window that was located below the steeple of the old St. Clara Church in Clarendon. This beautiful stained glass now resides in the vestibule of St. Anthony in Saybrook. Check it out when you are in the church!
St. Joseph School Scholarship Opportunity: An annual scholarship fund has been established to support Holy Redeemer Parish families whose children attend St. Joseph School. For the 2023-2024school year, $500 is available for each child attending SJS. Please contact Fr. Steve directly – and as soon as possible - to apply for this scholarship.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus: June is the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. A beautiful way to honor our Lord’s Sacred Heart is to have your home enthroned with the images of Christ and his Blessed Mother. Parishioner Audrey Davis and myself are responsible for this ministry in Warren County. We so enjoy the opportunity to visit a home and pray the prayers of enthronement! Please letups know if you and/or your family is interested.
Vacation Bible School: We are less than two months away from the most fun week of the year – VBS Week! If you are the parent of young ones, get them registered. If you are a middle school or high school student, sign up to volunteer. Everyone is invited to pray that the kids have a marvelous week. Jesus wanted the little children to draw close to him. At VBS, they draw close to Jesus with fun, music, and crazy good times!
