June 4, 2023 Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity To My Spiritual Family of Holy Redeemer and St. Anthony, Tithing Our Blessings: Our parish tithe for June will go to support Maria House Ministries. Founded by the late – and saintly - Fr. Jim Peterson, Maria House provides life services to those struggling with addiction or past incarceration. This is a western Pennsylvania ministry led by a very compassionate and Christ-centered group of folks. As always, thank you for your support of our tithing program. Eucharistic Saints: Thank you to everyone who came to pray this past weekend in the presence of the saints – Manuel Gonzales Garcia and Carlo Acutis. In a particular way, I want to thank the Knights of Columbus who served as an “honor guard” during our times of veneration. Having the relics here was a great blessing and a reminder to all of the tremendous graces that flow from the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. No less than St. Manuel or Bl. Carlo, you and I are also called to be Eucharistic saints. Corpus Christi Procession: Eucharistic Revival begins in our own hearts and in our own community! Please enter into the Revival by participating in next Sunday’s (June 11th) Eucharistic devotions. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place at 2:30 pm on the Holy Redeemer altar. At 3:00 pm, our procession will form, and we will take our Lord Jesus into the streets of Warren. The route is flat and short enough that most should be able to take part (even those in wheelchairs). We will accompany the Blessed Sacrament (under canopy) down Pennsylvania Avenue to Prospect by the Country Fair. Then we will proceed up Prospect to Madison. That road will bring us back to South Street and into the church, where we will finish with benediction. Corpus Christi processions are a wonderful tradition in the Catholic Faith. St. Jean Vianney, the patron of priests, once gleefully watched as a marching band joined in with his parish Corpus Christi procession in Ars, France. Our greatest hope and prayer for this procession may be this: That the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, carried onto the streets, will radiate love into our neighborhood and into our world. Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, fill our hearts with love for you! Our High School Seniors: It’s that bittersweet time of year when our parish high school graduates finish school and begin a new chapter of life in the military, in the workforce, or in college. The 2023 graduates from our parish have left a legacy of service to the needy of our community, dedicated altar serving and reading at Mass, peer leadership at school and beyond, and a noteworthy perseverance in our beloved Catholic faith. I’ve been blessed to get to know many of them through NCYC and other church activities. I wish them nothing less than a life worthy of sainthood. Please pray for them as we celebrate their graduation from high school. St. Joseph School Scholarship Opportunity: We are pleased to announce that an annual scholarship fund has been initiated to support Holy Redeemer Parish families whose children attend St. Joseph School. For the 2023-2024 school year, $500 is available for each child attending SJS. Please contact Fr. Steve directly to apply for this scholarship. Mary, Mother of the Holy Redeemer – Pray for us!
