December 11, 2022 3rd Sunday of Advent To My Spiritual Family of Holy Redeemer and St. Anthony, You Are Most Warmly Invited: Our celebration for the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe is tomorrow (Monday, December 12). We want you to be included! Here’s our schedule: 6:30 pm Holy Mass with music by John Finch 7:00 pm Fellowship and Fiesta featuring Mexican soups, cornbread, and cookies 7:30 pm an evening of Music, Song, Prayer, and Adoration led by John and his band You may recall that John (a Louisiana native/resident) and I met during a Catholic Heart Mission Trip on the Island of Grenada shortly before I arrived here in Warren in 2019. John and his former group, Vigil Project, led a night of worship for us last Advent that was incredibly prayerful and powerful (as those of you who attended will remember)! Now, having formed his own band, John is bringing his musical talents back to Holy Redeemer and we are thrilled to welcome him. We are not the only stop for John and the band. The group will also be leading evenings of worship at St. Boniface in Kersey and St. Joseph in Lucinda this week. A generous grant from the Catholic Foundation of Northwestern Pennsylvania is helping us to defray the cost of this minitour. Especially during this time of Eucharistic Renewal, and absolutely in honor of Our Blessed Mother Mary, we are so excited for tomorrow night! If you can’t make it to Mass, but are able to be here for the music and worship to follow no problem! If you can join us for Mass and fellowship, but then need to get home early that’s fine! Our OCIA candidates and their sponsors will be joining us. So too will our NCYC pilgrim gang. Please, we want you and your family to be part of this celebration. You are most warmly invited!! Tithing Our Blessings: Appropriately, as we celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe this month, our parish tithe will be going to our sister parish in Mexico. No doubt, they will be grateful to receive our gift. Please keep our sister parishioners in your prayers. Prayer and Sacrament: If you have been making extra time for Advent prayer, I affirm you! Keep up the good work! On the other hand, if you’ve been struggling with making that time for prayer, please know that we still have two weeks of Advent to go. It’s not too late to spend some quality time with our God. Be disciplined. Be assured that Jesus awaits you in the silence. The same goes for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. If you have not yet availed yourself, please do so. Many have said that Mercy is our Savior’s greatest attribute. Do not be afraid! He loves you and wishes to forgive you and heal you. Go to confession! Christmas Mass Schedule: Finally, as you begin making spiritual preparations for the Lord’s birth, here is our Christmas Mass schedule: Saturday, December 24: 5:00 pm @ St. Anthony & 10:00 pm @ Holy Redeemer Sunday, December 25: 9:00 am @ Holy Redeemer God bless you all and have a wonderful, prayerful week!
